'What are Guaranteed income funds?'

Guaranteed Income funds
provide a pre-determined level of guaranteed income with or without, a guarantee on capital.
Investors should be aware that some of these funds provide a guarantee on income only; others guarantee your income and your capital.
If there is no guarantee on capital, and the income taken is greater than the growth in the underlying fund, investors will be eroding the value of their investment by effectively taking income from capital. However in return for erosion in capital a higher income can usually be generated.
Income funds with capital guarantees are low risk funds, which generally provide lower income levels.
