'What are Guaranteed Growth Funds?'

Guaranteed Growth Funds
combine a pre-determined level of growth, with a guarantee on the invested capital and usually over a specified period of time.
These are low risk funds
and, as such, provide comparatively low annual growth in return for the peace of mind of having a guarantee that your capital will not be eroded.
There may be a minimum term, typically 5 years, beyond which the investment can be taken without penalty.
Any penalty is usually only on the amount withdrawn and reduces each year over the penalty period.
Although some plans do allow access to capital during the investment period, a penalty is usually incurred.
